The Frog FileEVERYTHING ELSE WE HAVE ON HIM

The front page covers the frog, the braids, the smoke and the token. This page is the rest of the paperwork — the log’s backstory, the heron’s file, the beads under a loupe, and the rumors we are formally declining to confirm.

FILE 07

The Log

Before it was his log, it was just a log. Nobody can agree on how long that lasted, because nobody was timing it.

It floated in from somewhere upstream during a flood that predates every other resident of the pond by several administrations. It caught on the reeds at the shallow end, settled, and has not moved a body-length since. Snoop Frog found it, sat on it, and the two of them have had the same understanding ever since: neither one is going anywhere.

The bark has gone soft on top from decades of exactly one weight distribution. Moss grows on every part of it except the one part he sits on.

Species

Unconfirmed. Possibly willow. Possibly whatever was nearest the water that year.

Ownership

Squatter’s rights, uncontested, for as long as anyone in the pond has kept records.

FILE 08

The Heron

Referenced twice already on the front page. Deserves a file of its own, mostly out of respect.

Territory

The reeds on the far bank. Circled since spring. Targets remain quarterly.

Relationship to the frog

Professional. They have never spoken. They have never needed to.

The apology

Filed under File 04. One interruption of the smoke, in living memory, and it was handled.

Current status

Still circling. Still quarterly. This file will be updated if that ever changes, which it has not.

FILE 09

The Beads

Purple, weighted, one per braid-end, four total. First mentioned in File 02. Here is the rest of what we have.

Nobody in the pond remembers them being put on, which is consistent with everything else about him — the maintenance happens, the origin does not get discussed. They click against each other when the wind moves through the reeds, and that click is the closest thing the pond has to a clock, a metronome, or a weather report.

FILE 10

Rumor Control

Things people in the pond say about him. None of it verified. All of it printed here so it stops going around unchecked.

“He jumped once.”

Unconfirmed. See File 03: zero jumps observed across a full week of recording.

“The log is actually two logs.”

Investigated once. The investigator gave up and sat down next to him instead.

“He has a token already.”

False. See File 05 on the front page: no launch, no contract, no exceptions.

“He’s actually very fast.”

Structurally impossible to disprove and also not the point.

A joke rumor log for a cartoon frog. It is not a claim about anything real, and nothing here should be mistaken for confirmed information about $SNOOPFROG, which has not launched.
